Ready to get started? Here’s what happens next.
You will be asked to complete a case history and supply any relevant documents such as a school evaluation. In nearly all cases, a multidimensional evaluation will be required in order to understand the presenting challenge and all the contributing factors, or to expand upon any prior recent testing.
For fluency disorders, the evaluation will encompass both fluency performance under varying conditions and testing of possible contributing factors.
Although the evaluation stage at SOS Speech Therapy is much more extensive than at other clinics, Laura is convinced that a detailed multidimensional evaluation saves time and money in the long run by allowing the creation of individualized and relevant goals.
What should I expect during an evaluation?
During the evaluation Laura will interview the client and/or caregivers, conduct formal and informal assessments, and do observations during play, reading, and spontaneous conversation.
Feel free to ask questions during the evaluation. Following the evaluation, a summary of the findings and recommendations for ongoing therapy will be discussed with you. The evaluation may be scheduled across a few sessions to achieve the best testing outcomes, especially for children.
The adult evaluation session typically lasts about two hours.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you are respectful and contact SOS Speech with at least a 24-hour notice of cancellation. A cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a small cancellation fee, and a no -show with no notice of cancellation will be charged the full therapy session rate.
Does SOS Speech accept insurance?
Our billing relationship is with you. SOS Speech is currently an out-of-network provider with all insurance companies. Once you have paid for services at our clinic, we are happy to provide a statement that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Typically asking for prior authorization is required for utilizing an out-of-network provider.
